According to foreign reports, Australia’s drug regulatory agency said on Wednesday that steam products will only be provided to consumers through doctor’s prescriptions from next year.

It is reported that the food and therapeutic products Administration (TGA) announced an interim decision to re classify nicotine as a prescription drug, which means that the use of electronic cigarettes and nicotine containing cigarette oil will become prescription drugs from June 2021.

These changes will also affect thermal nonflammable tobacco products, chewing tobacco, snuff and other new nicotine products. The decision will be open for comment by November 6.

Existing state and territory laws make it illegal to sell nicotine e-cigarettes and e-cigarettes throughout Australia, while possession of nicotine e-cigarettes and e-cigarettes is illegal in all places except South Australia.

In a statement, the TGA said the proposed changes mean “although you can still order online from your regular suppliers using the personal import program under the Therapeutic Products Act 1989 Obviously, you will need a prescription.
