According to a statement issued by the council of White Island, enforcements have been carried out in response to local businesses selling e-cigarettes to minors and distributing illegal e-cigarettes. The council has confiscated over a thousand e-cigarettes and has issued warnings regarding the sale to underage individuals and the presence of non-compliant products.
In the UK, there are regulations in place regarding the size of e-cigarette and e-cigarette liquid capacity. There are also limits on the concentration of nicotine in e-liquid. Certain ingredients and coloring agents are prohibited, and it is mandatory to include labels and warnings on packaging.
After receiving reports, a parliamentary spokesperson stated that several businesses were raided and confiscated “unsafe” e-cigarettes, with written warnings being issued. The legislative body has seized a thousand units of e-cigarettes voluntarily surrendered for destruction. Additionally, the organization conducted undercover operations involving individuals below the legal age to purchase e-cigarettes, utilizing volunteers to ensure merchants comply with relevant laws.
In the UK, the legal age to purchase e-cigarettes or any related products is 18. It is also illegal for adults to purchase these products for individuals under the age of 18.
A parliamentary spokesperson has stated that the institution has identified some issues this year, with certain businesses failing to pass underage testing, resulting in written warnings and subsequent testing. If further violations are found, the parliament will consider taking further enforcement actions.
