Vaporesso and parent company Smoore International have announced plans to submit their products for regulatory approval.
In a brief video posted to Vaporesso’s official YouTube channel on Tuesday, the company showcased its design and engineering credentials, including a highly automated production line, before going on to re-affirm its commitment to the PMTA process.
On the looming federal US regulations, imposed by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Vaporesso said:
“We have invested the most in the PMTA and gathered a professional team to do it right, to enhance long-term partnerships and to bring high-quality vaping experiences through our products”
What is a PMTA?
A PMTA (Premarket Tobacco product Application) will soon be required to legally market any “new tobacco product” within the US.
Since vape products fall under the designation of tobacco product, this regulation may result in significant changes to the availability and choice of vaping products in the US market.
The FDA’s industry draft guidance can be found here.
A deadline for PMTA submission was previously set for May 12 but due to concerns that COVID-19 would disrupt this process, the FDA filed a request for a 120-day extension.
Judge Paul Grimm of the United States District Court for the District of Maryland accepted this request and the deadline was subsequently moved to September 9.
