First Impressions
For this test, I obtained the Klein Blue color version of the Vandy Vape PULSE AIO V2 from @Sourcemore. The first visual impact is pleasant due to the combination of colors and materials. The blue aluminum frame is well painted and contrasts nicely with the black or transparent parts. The transparency of the external panels allows you to see the tank with its e-liquid level and the 18650 battery clearly. The Vandy Chip version 3.0.1 board is also visible through the second internal transparent panel, creating a notable scenographic effect. Despite its square shape, the Mod is easy to handle thanks to the beveled edges and low weight of around 120 grams.
The aluminum structure features the small and sober “Vandy Vape” writing on one side, and the three large slots for airflow on the other side, directed towards the cartridge inside the Mod. The V2’s transparent panels are removable with a small notch at the bottom, and the magnets are powerful, keeping the panels securely in place.
The Fire button is centrally located and easy to reach, with good feedback when pressed. The Pulse symbol under the Fire button is a nice touch. Through the transparent panels, you can see the back of the cartridge, the 18650 battery, and the printed circuit board. On the other side, the panel allows you to view the front part of the cartridge, the e-liquid level, the display, and the adjustment keys. The panel has numerous holes arranged in 4 rows to direct airflow towards the coil.
Removing/Inserting the 18650 Battery
The slot for the 18650 battery is located inside the frame, without any wall separating it from the e-liquid tank. This cost-saving choice can lead to flooding the battery with e-liquid if not careful. The battery fixing system features a toothed wheel with “unscrew/screw” on it, allowing quick and safe battery insertion and removal. The battery polarities are clearly marked inside the slot.
Removing/Inserting Pulse Aio Tank
The RBA cartridge does not need to be removed for refilling, thanks to the conveniently placed silicone tab. However, for cleaning, building a new coil, or changing the air pin, the cartridge needs to be removed. The system for removing the cartridge involves unscrewing the drip-tip with the supplied coin. The drip tip is made up of three parts and can be customized with different airflow restrictors and deck pins.
Chipset 3.0.1 & IP67
The bottom of the Aio V2 features a steel bar with the IP67 mark, indicating resistance to dust and water ingress. The bar can be removed for cleaning or replacing. This solution improves the electrical conductivity between the battery and the circuit, though I did not notice a significant difference in response time compared to other devices.
Operational Guide
The 0.42″ Oled display shows white monochromatic fonts, displaying power, battery level, coil resistance, and puff counter. Power adjustment ranges from 5 to 80W in 1W increments. The brightness is not adjustable, and the fonts are small, which might be challenging for older users.
- Press the Fire button 5 times to turn the device on/off
- Press the Fire button 3 times to change the operating mode, use the + and – buttons to choose between VW, SS, TI, NI, Bypass, Volt.
- Press the fire button and “+” button at the same time to lock/unlock the adjustment buttons
- Press both the Adjust and Fire buttons at the same time to enter stealth mode
- Press the “+” and “–” buttons simultaneously to access the menu, to reset the puffs, to check the installed chip version, or to set the TCR
Pulse Aio Tank
The tank holds up to 6ml of e-liquid, and the filling hole is conveniently placed for easy refilling. The kit includes two plastic covers for the drip tip, airflow restrictors, and different air pins for customization. The tank does not leak if the RBA is correctly inserted.
RBA Build
Building the coil on the RBA was straightforward, though tightening the small screws and cutting the excess legs was challenging. I had to adjust the RBA pin to make contact with the 510 adapter. Once built, the vaping test required some adjustments to achieve a satisfactory experience.
Final Conclusions & Vaping Test
The Vandy Vape Pulse Aio V2 is a stylish and functional kit, offering high autonomy and essential vaping modes. It is economical and compatible with standard-sized Borons. The transparent panels attract fingerprints, but the rich set of accessories allows for customization. During the vaping test, I found the RDL configuration to provide the best results.
