USA plans to set the smoking and vaping lowest age at 21

E-cigarette sales regulations vary from state to state in the United States, but consumers must be at least 18 years old to be legal to buy it.

On April 18, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said he planned to legislate nationwide to raise the minimum age for buying tobacco & vape products from 18 to 21.

McConnell’s bill will cover all tobacco products, as well as electronic cigarettes. He said the bill would be introduced in May 2019.

CEO Willard of Altria Group, which acquired 35% of Juul‘s electronic cigarettes, said they strongly support McConnell’s move in a statement, calling it “the most effective action to reverse the rise in the use of electronic cigarettes by minors.”
