PMI questions FDA’s action on warning pictures of harmful health effects of smoking

Share

Recently, Philip Morris American tobacco company, a cigarette manufacturer in New Jersey, questioned the previous FDA’s picture warning on the harmful effects of smoking on health on August 5.

The company demanded that the U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., rule that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s requirement for tobacco manufacturers to print warnings about the harmful effects of smoking on health is unconstitutional.

In this regard, analysts pointed out that tobacco companies can only from the level of tobacco packaging and advertising to raise the above-mentioned doubts on the regulation of regulatory authorities.

At the same time, tobacco companies also believe that the FDA’s recent internal research warning on the harmful effects of smoking is invalid and unconstitutional.
