Philip Morris Japan Launches IQOS Recycle Program for Sustainable Solution

Share

Philip Morris Japan has announced the IQOS Recycle Program, an initiative to collect and recycle used IQOS devices. Starting from August 31, customers can participate by dropping their unwanted devices into designated collection boxes installed at nearest IQOS stores.

The program runs in partnership with Terracycle Japan, and is designed to encourage the recycling of unused IQOS devices. IQOS, a heat-not-burn tobacco product, has become significantly popular in Japan and other markets as an alternative to traditional cigarettes.

Collection points are located at six IQOS stores throughout Japan, including Sapporo, Ginza, Umeda, Shinsaibashi, Hiroshima, and Fukuoka. The recycling initiative applies to all IQOS device models, as well as authentic IQOS accessories such as chargers and cables.

Additionally, the program offers Terracycle points based on the volume of devices collected. This initiative underlines the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability and responsible waste management.

Philip Morris Japan’s decision to run an IQOS recycle program serves as an example of how companies can adopt eco-friendly practices to reduce their environmental footprint. By providing an easy way for customers to recycle their used devices, Philip Morris is not only extending the lifecycle of its products, but also promoting responsible consumption and disposal.
