The adverb is true, “The more famous people are, the more gossip there is”. Juul vape in the limelight is in trouble now. This “trouble” is not a case. According to the development trend, other big vape companies will encounter it, too, and the bigger the enterprise, the easier it is to get into trouble.
Wired reporter Nitasha Tiku reported three lawsuits against e-cigarettes, one of which was a teenage mother who filed Juul in New York, saying the company’s patented formula triggered the user’s nicotine addiction.
According to reports, her child has been experiencing Juuling since the age of 15, and even with the disciplinary action of the family and the school, it is difficult to stop now.
In a lawsuit filed of the Northern District Court of California, the San Francisco High Court, and the District Court of New York, a key ingredient in the Juul formula, salt nicotine, was specifically mentioned.
In a recent study, the researchers tested how the two flavors of Juul are superimposed on the other nine. In the May issue of the Journal of Independent Chemistry, one paper pointed out:
Compared to other brands, Juul’s e-liquid contains more nicotine and less harsh free radicals. In other words, this means that Juul has added a heavier dose of nicotine to a ‘delicious’ package.
A chart shows that all three products contain a salt nicotine component described in the Juul patent, which can produce much more nicotine in the blood than a Pall Mall cigarette.
Gideon St. Helen, a tobacco researcher at the University of California, San Francisco, warned that the level of nicotine after vaping would be much higher than what we saw on the chart.
We only see the details of the research that Juul told, but without independent research, these claims are hard to prove or refute.
It is reported that the latest three lawsuits were initiated against Juul Labs’ brand and marketing strategy. Two of these in California revolve around “created a group of new customers who are addicted, not ordinary smokers.”
However, product inventor Victoria Davis argued in an interview with The Verge in early July that Juul is only used by adult smokers who want to switch from combustible tobacco.
Then in an email statement today, she added that Juul Labs doesn’t endorse these lawsuits and will defend them actively.
