On October 27th, at an e-cigarette exhibition in the UK, 2FIRSTS discovered that Snowplus has launched a disposable e-cigarette product with a capacity of 5000 puffs. The brand offers two models called Snowplus Gold and Snowplus Clic. Snowplus claims in its product brochure that this is the world’s first disposable product with a capacity of 5000 puffs that complies with the TPD standard.
However, according to our understanding at 2FIRSTS, one of the most important regulations in the TPD standard is that the capacity of e-liquid must not exceed 2ml, roughly equivalent to around 600 puffs. The e-cigarette market in the UK needs to adhere to the TRPR standard, which is similar to the TPD standard and also stipulates that the e-liquid capacity must be within 2ml. Therefore, most disposable e-cigarette products that comply with EU and UK regulations maintain a capacity of around 600 puffs.
In addition, 2FIRSTS found through an official search on the UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) website that Snowplus’ product has been successfully registered.
So, how did Snowplus manage to surpass the limited number of entry points while still complying with regulations? In response to this question, 2FIRSTS asked the person in charge of the brand’s booth, but they refused to provide an answer.
However, 2FIRSTS still found some information about the Snowplus product in their promotional brochure. According to the brochure, this product incorporates a completely new structure and improved vaporization technology, resulting in a significant increase in product lifespan. The e-liquid capacity of this product is 12ml (labeled as 2ml+10ml in the brochure), and it is equipped with a built-in rechargeable battery with a capacity of 500mAh.
According to the promotional brochure and instructional videos on YouTube, it is necessary to remove the original pod and replace it with a larger e-liquid reservoir for this product.
