Recently, the Market Regulation Bureau of Shenzhen and the Tobacco Monopoly Bureau of Shenzhen visited and investigated the e-cigarette enterprises in Shenzhen, publicized and implemented the spirit of the online vape ban notice, urged vape enterprises to close the e-cigarette online sales channels in a timely manner and withdraw the e-cigarette advertisements online.
The Market Regulation Bureau actively arranged clues, and recently organized law enforcement inspection on e-cigarette enterprises. It was found that three brand e-cigarette enterprises used their corporate websites to publicize and hire agents, suspected of advertising illegally online. And it had been filed a case for investigation.
The market regulation bureau, together with Shenzhen Institute of measurement and quality inspection, conducted risk monitoring sampling inspection on the electronic cigarette fittings, e-liquid and other products produced by Shenzhen electronic cigarette enterprises. A total of 33 batches of electronic cigarette products were sampled (the product coverage is limited, and the relevant conclusions are for reference only). As the national mandatory standard of the product is in the approval status, the inspection was conducted with reference to the relevant standards.
1. In this test, 7 batches of e-cigarette products from 4 inspected units were randomly selected, and the standard adopted was the draft for approval of the national standard electronic cigarette, mainly for the battery part of electronic cigarette. The inspection items were extrusion, heavy impact and heat abuse. Through inspection, all the inspected items meet the requirements of the standard, and no non-conforming products are found.
According to the statistics, 5 of the 7 batches of samples have adopted the enterprise standard, and 2 batches of samples have adopted the local standard of Shenzhen city. According to the evaluation of the inspection standard, the risk level of the samples’ non conformity is ordinary risk.
2. In this task, a total of 26 batches of e-liquid samples were taken, and three items including nicotine, phthalate ester and heavy metal content (calculated by Pb) were tested according to the task plan.
The results showed that in 26 batches, the content of phthalate and heavy metal (calculated by Pb) was not detected, but nicotine was detected, with the content range of 2.6 × 10-4 ~ 55 mg / g, among which the content of nicotine in 23 batches was higher than the 24 mg / g required in the general technical requirements for e-liquid products (szdb / z157-2015), and the product nic exceeding rate was 88.5%.
In the next step, the municipal market supervision bureau and the local bureaus will focus on rectifying the sales of e-cigarettes around the campus, investigating and punishing the illegal acts of various market entities selling e-cigarettes to minors, and effectively protecting minors from the infringement of e-cigarettes.
