Review: Luxe QS – Vaporesso

Share

Keep it simple

There is no need for complex systems to get started in vaping nowadays. The Luxe QS only works when you draw on it. It has no settings and can be used for two vaping styles with its disposable 2ml cartridges. Whether you want a tight draw or you’d like to start producing a few small clouds, this pod fits the bill.

Efficient

The Luxe QS is deliberately understated. It has a fixed casing whose colour varies according to the finish, and there is no settings button. There are no settings for the air inlet cooling the coil either. Just one small LED placed discreetly under the cover panel lights up when the pod is working and during charging. No more, no less! Under the pod is the name of the model and the battery life, 1,000 mA h, which is in the category average. The Luxe QS is not very big and it would be difficult to give it a larger battery.

On the other side, the Luxe QS has a metal panel that inspires confidence and feels nice and sturdy. A barely visible subtle, wavy texture reflects the light. Discreet but well-designed! A USB-C port allows fast charging of the pod.

An opening on each side of the e-cigarette allows the air to enter under the cartridge. The flow is then directed towards the coil in the tank to cool it. It is not possible to modify this air intake. It doesn’t matter though, as the coils work perfectly in this configuration. On the cartridge you can see two small notches on the tank. These make it easier to remove it from the battery body without hurting your fingers.

The cartridge is fitted onto the battery body in the traditional way. The tank is held on by magnets and plastic parts. The hold is excellent and unless the Luxe QS suffers a heavy fall, it is impossible for the pod to become detached from the battery. The mouthpiece has a flattened shape. It feels nice to vape with and is adapted to the style of draw.

To fill up your Luxe QS, you remove the mouthpiece from the rest of the tank. This gives access to a hole covered by a silicon seal with an X cut into it. The Luxe QS holds 2ml, which is the average among its competitors. Bottles with narrow tips should be used for easy filling without any risk of drips or overflows, or getting liquid all over your fingers.

Two cartridges are supplied in the box. One has a 0.6 ohm Corex coil and the other a 1 ohm coil. The manufacturer boasts a 50% increase in lifetime and flavour. It’s difficult to measure, since it depends on the liquid used, but during our tests, we weren’t disappointed. The vapour is top quality and the flavours accurate. We didn’t notice any leaks, or even a hint of seepage.

Drawing on the 1 ohm coil is sufficiently dynamic for mouth to lung vaping (like a tobacco cigarette). With the 0.6 ohm coil, you can enjoy very restricted direct to lung vaping. That means you can keep your vaping options open with a kit that is still discreet.

The Luxe QS can also be fitted with the Luxe Q cartridge model (in 0.8 ohm and 1.2 ohm) to cover more needs. Our only gripe is that the cartridges are disposable and you have to change them when the coil performance starts to deteriorate.
