A tiny, elegant box

The 510 type connector standing 3mm above the box can be fitted with clearomizers with a maximum diameter of 20mm. Just below, a discreet but easily readable 0.42″ monochrome OLED screen displays all the essential information for vaping at a glance: coil value, puff counter, remaining battery life and power setting.

The fire button on the side of the box just below the screen falls perfectly under your thumb. It makes a dull click, a sign of quality. Press five times to switch the box on or off. The power setting can be locked by pressing successively three times.

Further down from the fire button at the bottom of the box are the plus and minus buttons, and the USB-C type charging port.

The chipset power ranges from 5 to 40W in 0.5W increments. There are three vaping modes: variable power, Smart VW and variable voltage. They are accessed by pressing the plus and minus buttons simultaneously. The selection is confirmed by pressing once on the fire button. The box is equipped with systems to protect against short circuits on the coil and detect if there is no clearomizer, a system to avoid deep discharge of the battery and overvoltage on the USB-C port.

The iTank X

To complete its kit, Vaporesso has opted for its new iTankX clearomizer. It contains a comfortable 3.5ml when fitted with its bubble glass. It comes with a spare straight 2ml tank in the box.

Topped with a 510 format mouthpiece, the filling cap has a quarter-turn release system. A silicone disk provides the seal between the tank and the clearomizer. It has two holes opposite each other for filling and a hole in the middle for the vapour to pass through from the coil.

At the bottom of the clearomizer, a rotating ring is used to adjust the incoming airflow to suit the desired draw. Unscrew this ring to change the coil. The coil can then be inserted into the base of the clearomizer.

Two coils are supplied in the kit. The GTX 0.6 ohm Mesh coil (pre-installed) for use between 20 and 26W and the GTX 1.2 ohm regular coil for use between 8 and 12W.

The Gen Fit 40 really is very enjoyable to use. Opting for a built-in 2000 mAh battery is a smart choice and offers a comfortable battery life even with the 0.6 ohm coil at 24W. The easy-to-use chipset is perfect for a first-time vaper whilst still being very effective, something which will also delight more experienced vapers. The iTank offers excellent flavours both in mouth to lung and restrictive direct to lung vaping. Vaporesso specifies that all the coils in the GTX range are compatible with the iTankX, which means it offers a very wide range of vaping.
