A: On March 11. China’s prime minister, conti, announced a comprehensive moratorium on all commercial activities, including bars and restaurants, with the exception of pharmacies, supermarkets, newspaper kiosks and tobacco shops.
I was a little angry, and the next day I made some statements. I think it’s a very wrong decision to allow tobacco shops to operate and ban e-cigarette shops. The reason is very simple: under the condition of high anxiety and tension, people will use a lot of cigarettes when they are trapped at home, which will expose many people around them to the risk of second-hand smoke, especially infants.
Novel coronavirus pneumonia is the most important problem in Italy. One hundred thousand people in China use electronic cigarettes, but due to the pressure brought by the new crown pneumonia, they may start using cigarettes again when they are addicting to smoking. From the perspective of public health, I think it is very dangerous. I asked the government this question:

If we stop using electronic cigarettes, we will see an increase in the aggravation of these patients. Under the current situation of overburdened beds in intensive care unit (ICU), this will cause great pressure on the national health care system.

Q: What happened next?
A: On March 13. the Italian Ministry of health and the prime minister clarified this and said that in addition to tobacco shops, e-cigarette shops can also continue to operate to meet the needs of e-cigarette users. This shift may be due to the tax problems of electronic cigarette products, but in the case of billions of dollars lost in the whole country, I don’t think tax is the main reason.
I’m very happy that the government is very open to ideas. A few days later, the government responded and said the e-cigarette store could continue to operate.
