When it comes to choosing a CBD flower, the choices are endless and overwhelming. We all want the best quality, but we may not know what to look for to get it. There are certain things you want to look for when choosing the best CBD flowers. You’ll want to see how they look, smell, lab results, and the CBD content in them.
Are you just starting in the world of CBD flowers and aren’t sure where to start? This is the blog post for you! Here are the 4 things you’ll want to consider when choosing the best CBD flowers:
- Appearance
The appearance of the flowers is always going to be the first thing you’ll see (literally). When looking at each flower, you’ll want to look closely at the color – CBD flowers are usually green. If the flower you’re looking at has a brownish color – that’s not the one for you!
Keep an eye out for frosty flowers! If you come across a flower that has frosted crystals, it contains a lot of the good “stuff” you’re looking for.
The more “nugs”, the better. You’ll want to select flowers that are dense clusters, not “shake”. Shake is debris from the plant such as stems, leaves, loose buds – you don’t want that!
- Smell
Buying CBD flowers is similar to buying regular flowers. When the flower was grown properly, it has a strong smell. CBD flowers will smell similar to cannabis and the strength of the scent will depend on the number of flavonoids (terpene and CBD) that each flower contains.
Note for when you are in a dispensary shopping for CBD flowers is to ask the budtender to pinch the flower so you can smell its fragrance – this will give you a good idea of how high quality the flower was grown.
- Lab Results
If the flowers lab results aren’t published, don’t purchase it. Most reputable companies will always show the quality of their flowers by published the lab results, and this is one of the most important things to check out when purchasing flowers.
When looking at the lab results, you’ll want to watch for these items:
- Published within the last two years
- The product was made within regulations
- How much CBD the flower has
- Were extra ingredients added?
- Heavy metal and contaminant analysis
If you like the results you see, you’ve found a good, high-quality product.
- Cannabidiol (or CBD) Content
This item should always be included in the company’s lab results. This is an analysis report that gives you every detail about the different cannabinoids in each flower. The two things you’ll want to look for are CBD and THC.
The legal limit for THC is 0.3% and anything about that can get you into legal trouble, and give you a high. If you are looking at a high-quality cbd flower, there won’t be high percentages of THC in it.
The best quality CBD flowers will (obviously) have high percentages of CBD – you’ll want to be in the range of 7-25%. Staying in that range will give you the exact feeling you’re looking for with CBD!
