Spanish Member of Parliament and Undersecretary of Health, Javier Padilla, recently expressed support for nationwide regulations on the sale of energy drinks to minors. According to a report by infobae, Padilla stated during a media briefing that implementing such regulations is a “reasonable” step.
The autonomous community of Galicia is currently in the process of preparing a bill that will prohibit the sale of energy drinks to minors and restrict their advertising. This future law aims to treat energy drinks similarly to alcoholic beverages and e-cigarettes in terms of sales and advertising regulations. For instance, the bill will prevent the sale of these beverages in sports stadiums and establish regulations regarding their advertising practices.
