Automotive-inspired design
At first glance, the AP2 pod has a real automotive design look about it. Its shape is quite similar to a modern car fob. Not surprising since Geekvape is a partner of the prestigious Aston Martin brand. Apart from the look, it’s also tough and delivers a high-quality vape. What more could you ask?

What’s in the box?
Robust construction
Underneath the AP2 is a USB-C port enabling fast charging of the pod. It blends nicely into the box. With a 900mAh battery, it offers excellent battery life in its format category. The design is understated but immaculate. The pod is protected with rubber on the sides that cushion it from moderate falls. The AP2 has an IP67 rating, meaning it is splash-proof.
On the back of our test model, the pod is finished with a carbon-fibre look sticker that contributes to the overall look of the AP2. On the opposite side, the pod is shiny in its black version, or has a satin finish depending on the choice of colour. There’s nothing to add really. It’s well-made. At only 18mm thick, it slips easily into a pocket or bag. Tipping the scales at 86g, it doesn’t quite make the top step of the feather-weight podium, but its weight does give an impression of quality.
The fire button is almost flush with the pod. It doesn’t have any lateral play or annoying clicks. It needs to be pressed firmly but not too hard. Fans of draw-activated vaping won’t be disappointed since the AP2 works just as well with the fire button or by inhalation only. The brand logo under the button lights up each time you inhale and shows the remaining battery life. It also lights up during charging. Three power levels can be selected for a warmer or cooler vape, depending on the e-liquid used.
Two magnets hold the cartridge in place. We didn’t notice any play or faulty magnetism during our tests. A long cannula inserts into the air inlets of the cartridge to cool the coil.
Two vaping styles
The cartridge is slightly tinted to blend into the rest of the pod. The level of liquid left in the tank is easy to see during use. With a volume of 4.5ml, you don’t need to fill up very often, especially with the coils provided. Which is a plus!
The tank is filled in the traditional way by lifting a seal. The hole is compatible with most bottle tips but you are advised to use the narrower ones to make filling easier.
The major advantage of the AP2 is its dual airflow system. Depending on whether you want direct to lung inhalation or mouth to lung inhalation (like smoking a cigarette), you simply need to remove the cartridge and reattached it to the body the other way around. On the photo, the left hole corresponds to direct to lung inhalation and the one on the right is for mouth to lung. You place the hole of your choice on the airflow cannula to change vaping style. The AP2 is versatile in this respect.
The AP2 comes with two coils, the 0.6ohm coil for use between 13 and 18W and the 0.8ohm coil for vaping between 12 and 15W.
The coils can be inserted into their compartment any way round. A little tool is included to help you remove the coils. We didn’t need to use it during our tests.
The vaping experience is all good. Whether vaping direct to lung or mouth to lung, the flavour produced is excellent. You can even get a few small clouds in DL. Of course, the AP2 is above all a small pod, so no massive clouds. However, for users looking for an all-purpose pod that delivers the flavours accurately with good quality coils, the AP2 is a suitable choice. For vaping newbies or as a discreet backup vape kit, this product fits the bill perfectly.
