On May 17, according to foreign reports, from Monday, May 18, retail stores in New York State will ban the sale of flavored steam products, and the sale of all tobacco products in pharmacies will come to an end.

“Health related entities should not engage in tobacco sales, which is the main cause of preventable deaths in New York State,” state governor Andrew Cuomo wrote in a press release. “Ending the sale of tobacco and electronic tobacco products in pharmacies will help reduce the availability, visibility and social acceptance of tobacco use, especially for young people.”

The measure also makes it illegal to sell electronic nicotine delivery systems (ends) online by phone and mail order.

Last September, New York became the first state in the United States to ban flavored electronic cigarettes. Cuomo announced the decision as part of a series of efforts to combat the use of e-cigarettes to increase the number of young people. Kumo said in a statement that “there is no denying” that flavors such as “bubble gum” and “marshmallow” are deliberately designed for young people.
