Fermo International’s Bologna plant in Italy will be suspended for one week

Sealebia news: On March 27. according to foreign reports, PMI’s plant in Bologna, Italy, will be suspended for a week.

It is reported that about 50% of the iqos heating rods of PMI are produced in Bologna factory. The shutdown was carried out during the outbreak of covid-19 to prevent further spread of the virus.

PMI said it had enough inventory to shut down the plant, including more than two months of heated tobacco plants, more than three months of heated tobacco plants and more than one and a half months of cigarettes.

The company’s other heated tobacco facilities remain open and have the flexibility to move production elsewhere.

As of 2019. PMI operates 38 plants, 7 of which produce heating tobacco devices, and the largest plants are located in Indonesia, Turkey, the Philippines, Russia, Poland, Lithuania and Italy.
