St Patrick’s Day is held on the 17th of March and commemorates the death of St Patrick (B.385-461 AD c.) He is the Patron Saint of Ireland and this day has been celebrated since the 17th century. Although it is a Christian festival, it also is a celebration of Irish heritage and culture and is widely observed as a day of festivities with parades, shamrocks, wearing green and drinking Guinness and Irish Whiskey.
