According to an article published in tobacco control, sales of menthol e-cigarettes have been on the rise since the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) guidelines banning flavors took effect.
Since Juul labs e-cigarettes removed fruit flavored cigarettes from the market, the FDA also banned flavors other than menthol and tobacco, and the market share of menthol flavored e-cigarettes has increased.
One month after Juul’s action, the market share of menthol flavored products increased by 59.4%, while under the guidance of FDA, sales increased by 54.5% after one month and 82.8% after two months.
