The Australian medical supplies authority (TGA) has rejected a request from Philip Morris International Tobacco Company (PMI) Australia to ban its heating and non burning tobacco devices from entering the country’s tobacco market, according to the US tobacco industry communication network.
At present, only ordinary cigarettes and cigars are allowed to be sold in Australia.
A researcher at the school of public health at the University of Sydney, Australia, said the government had made the right decision. Because heating does not burn tobacco products are not really hazardous products.
